Captain Montgomery was in charge of the troops from Madison County called the "Danielsville Guards". According to Henderson's Roster, he was captured at Gettysburg, Pa. on July 2, 1863. He was released from prison at Cox's Wharf, James River, Va. March 22, 1865. I have posted info on this unit previously at the following:
