I am searching for info on my civil war ancestor Ransom Riley Leming who enlisted in the 3rd Ga. Calvary in Rome, Ga. in April, 1862. I later found him listed in the 5th Ga. Infantry. He was captured at the battle of Resaca in May 1864, and spent the rest of the War starving in Rock Island Prison, in Illinois. He retained his honor and never signed the pledge as so many did and joined the USA forces. He was released from Rock Island Prison in May 1865, then walked back to Georgia. I am also interested in other ancestors with the surnames as follows: Beam, Jenkins, Warren and Kelley, all from Georgia and Alabama. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Larry Lemming
