Surnames: Vigor,Vigar
In East Sussex England there were Vigars and Vigors (the Vigor name mutated to Vigar) in the 1600s. The name Vigor probably originated from Normandy, France where there are several towns named after Saint Vigor.

Can anyone make a connection between the Somerset Vigors/Vigars and the East Sussex ones? My earliest Vigor ancestor is James Vigor who married Jone Cheeseman in Bexhill 6-9-1579.
