Ron Serber, age 64, of Tyler TX passed away September 14, 2007. He was born May 25, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Libby Serber.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marilyn Serber, of Tyler; his sister, Adele Miller, and her husband, Don of Dallas; children Julie Sacks, and her husband, Steve, of Chicago, Illinois; Jeff Serber and his wife, Cara, of Frisco; and three adoring grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Serber will be held on Monday, September 17, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway in Tyler, TX with Rabbi Neal Katz and Rabbi Eugene Levy officiating.
Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler TX under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Serber was an active member of Tyler Lions Club and a Shriner Mason. He was Alumni Professor at the University of Texas at Tyler and Chairman of the Board of Hospice of East Texas. He also was a Past President and Treasurer of Congregation Beth El of Tyler, Texas. He enjoyed work and community service, and spending time with family and friends.
