Elise Grace O'Day
Elise Grace O'Day, formerly known as Clara Grace Phillips, age 73 of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday August 27, 2004 after fighting a long illness. She was one of eight children born to Clayton Wesley Phillips and Lena Pearl (Draper) Phillips. She was born on the old homestead South of Yukon on Highway 92 on January 29, 1931, and has been a lifetime resident of Yukon. She graduated from Yukon High School in 1949, and went to work shortly thereafter for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company / AT&T Communications until retiring in 1984. She was a member of West Point Christian Church and was baptized there. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William G. O'Day, of the home; a daughter, Lisa C. O'Day of Midwest City, OK; a son, Sean A O'Day of Overland Park, KS; two sisters, Leah Jenks of Edmond, OK, and Ione Layton, of Oklahoma City, OK a brother, Carroll Phillips, of Bethany, OK; and one grandchild, Lori Anne Harrison. She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Laura Simpson, Ruth Yost, and Dorace Day; a brother, Gerald Phillips; and a daughter, Denise, who died in infancy. She loved beautiful things and is now in a much more beautiful place with the Lord. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at Smith & Turner Mortuary Chapel, Yukon, OK.
