Obituary

Gerald Thompson

Gerald C. Thompson, age 66 of Wagoner passed away Thursday, May 6, 2004 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, with Reverend Wesley Graver officiating.
Gerald was born to John and Laura (Williams) Thompson on June 18, 1937 in Plant City, Florida. After receiving his early education Gerald later joined the United States Navy where he served four years. On November 4, 1967 Gerald married Ruth Carolyn (Cooper) Thompson in Bangore, Michigan, and they moved to the Wagoner community over 28 years ago. After leaving the service Gerald worked as a Truck Driver for a few years. He went on to work as a Welder, and most recently worked for Mazie Wholesalers delivering flowers to florists in the surrounding areas. In his spare time Gerald loved working in his yard, mowing, and just being outdoors. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to the river with family and friends. Gerald loved reading, especially his Western books. Above all he enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and especially his grandchildren.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents John and Laura Thompson; One brother John Thompson; Three sisters Patricia Thompson, Gladys Thompson, and Audrey Smith.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Ruth Thompson of the home; Two sons Wilson Thompson and Gerald Thompson, Jr. both of the home. Two daughters Cathy Hummingbird and her husband Wally of Wagoner and Rebecca Sims and her husband Curtis of Hemet, CA;
Three brothers James Thompson and his wife June of Long Beach, CA; Danny Thompson and his wife Imgard, and Ronnie Thompson and his wife Charlotte all of Hudson, FL.
Two sisters Betty Smith and her husband Don of Hudson, Florida, and Jewell Miller of Florida;
Six grandchildren: Amy, Walter, Kristofer, Joshua, Katilyn, and Nicholas. And numerous other relatives and friends who are sure to miss him.
