Richard Lindon Landrum, 70, former resident of La Grange, Texas, went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday February 23, 2005, in Austin, Texas. A loving husband, adored father, and devoted grandpa, Richard will be missed by all who were blessed to know him. Richard is survived by his wife of 37 years, Vicki Landrum; four daughters, Jennifer Stewart and husband David, Kendra Sterling and husband Greg, Jessica Landrum, and Allison Hoffman and husband Paul; five grandchildren, Ethan Landrum- Denby, Noah Stewart, Luke Hoffman, Jane Sterling and Drew Sterling; two brothers, Bill Landrum and wife Mary Ann of Ardmore, Oklahoma and George Landrum of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and one sister, Dorothy Caldwell and husband Gary of Bakersfield, California; and special nieces Lezlie Markey and husband Chris and Robin Truitt and husband Greg, all of Austin, Texas. Richard was born on March 1, 1934, in Houston, Texas, to William and Dorothy Houser Landrum. After graduating from high school, he served his country in the Navy for eight years. His greatest joys in life besides being with his grandchildren were golfing and the Texas Longhorns. He was known for his patience, kindness, and hard work ethic. He owned several of his own businesses and was a patented inventor. At the time of his death he was working as a realtor with Keller Williams Realty in Austin, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at Bannockburn Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christopher House of Austin, Texas or Cancer Therapy and Research Center (CTRC) in San Antonio, Texas.
