Warren D. "Pete" Hastings, 74, of Midland, TX died on Saturday, January 7, 2006, at the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Midland Memorial. Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Stephen's Catholic Church Tuesday, January 10, 2005 at 2:00PM with the Rev. James Bridges of St. Stephen's officiating, and assisted by Rev. Terry Hancock of Brownwood. The family will receive relatives and friends at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland, for a visitation, on Monday, Jan. 9, 2006 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
Warren was born on October 10, 1931, in Jetmore, Kansas and married Carol Carpenter on Jan 30, 1955 in Big Spring.
He was a Methodist.
Warren was a 50 year member of Staked Plains Lodge #598 A.F.& A.M. in Big Spring and a member of Oilburners Car Club. He served in the United States Air Force at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring during the 1950's. He served iin the U.S Airforce in 1950.
He enjoyed classical music, antique cars , his friends and especially his family. He never met a stranger and looked at life with a smiling eye and never a harsh word.
W.D. as his friends called him, worked in the Oilfield as a drilling equipment salesman.
Survivors include:his wife of 50 years, Carol Hastings of Midland; a son, Bill Hastings of Midland; a son & daughter-in-law, David & Debbie Hastings of Austin; a daughter & son-in-law, Carren & Terry Hancock of Bangs; a brother & sister-in-law, Charles & Sandra Hastings of Jetmore, Kansas; and seven grandchildren.
