After an extended illness, Barbara Wright passed away Thursday, January 5, 2006. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Durward Wright to whom she was deeply devoted. She is also survived by her mother Jeanie Mae Key Allison, brother Chris Key and five children: Greg Wright, Cynthia Crutcher, Richard Wright, Garth Wright and Brad Wright, along with eleven Grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren.
Barbara was a devoted Christian, daily reading her Bible and offering earnest prayers on behalf of her family and friends.
During her life, her activities involved the raising of her children and serving as their biggest fan at their multiple athletic involvements. Barbara would be seen regularly supporting their participation in basketball, football, baseball, volleyball and softball. She loved her bridge club activities as well, counting the club members among her dear friends.
Barbara was born in Lorenzo, Texas. She lived in Lubbock, San Antonio, Fort Worth, Odessa and finally, for the last 49 years of her life, she was a resident of Midland, Texas.
Professionally, Barbara worked as a receptionist for KCRS radio and office secretary to a private oil company in Midland. She enjoyed painting, cooking and took tremendous pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.
Barbara was visited by all of her adult children before passing with beauty, grace and peace into her new life in heaven. She was deeply loved by her family and will be sorely missed but remembered always.
The family celebrates her life on this earth and her passing into the next life as a believer in the eternal salvation of Christ Jesus.
Visitation will take place Friday January 6, 2006 at Nalley, Pickle and Welch Funeral Home 3800 North Big Spring in Midland, Texas from 6:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM. Her funeral will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday January 7, 2006 at Greenwood Baptist Church on FM Road 307 in Greenwood, Texas , with Rev. Waymon Swopes pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
