Dinesh Kumar Tewarson, 67, born July 28, 1936, son of the late S.B.and Edith (Money) Tewarson of Bareilly, India passed away April 22, 2004 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington,VT following a long fight of failing health for many years.
He earned a BS in Chemistry from Lucknow University in India, a BS in Education from Agra University India, a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, and a MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Vermont.
Dinesh married the former Mary L. Gonyea on June 25, 1966 in the First United Methodist Church in Burlington.
After college he worked as an Electrical Engineer, joining IBM in Fishkill, NY in 1966 and within a couple years transferred to IBM in Essex, retiring in 1994.
Dineshâ€™s interests were traveling abroad, camping, photography, entertaining, playing bridge, and history. He was dedicated to his family, friends and career. He was an active member in the First United Methodist Church, Wesley Club, and a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Family and close friends were important in Dineshâ€™s life and he made many friends during his lifeâ€™s journey. His greatest gift was cultivating friends from many cultures and his life energy, spirit, and presence touched them.
He is survived by his wife Mary (Gonyea) Tewarson, of 38 years; his son, Raj Tewarson of Lowell, MA; two brothers Dr. Ivan Tewarson and his wife Barbara of Ohio and Lalit Tewarson and his wife Irene of India; two sisters Dr. Vinod Noah and her husband Dr. Arnold Noah of India and Tilottma Souri of California; nieces Tina Linburgh, Vaneeta Noah, Nandita Smiechewicz, Sarvo Martin and their spouses; nephew Sanjai Noah and his wife; cousins Dr. Reginald and Ghenwah Tewarson, Drs. Archi and Pam Tewarson; and numerous other family including Jagdish and Margaret Singh and their family of Florida, Suresh and Rashita Tewarson, Sunil and Dâ€™Ann Tewarson, Tara Tewarson, Anil Tewarson, Angelica Tewarson, Ashish Tewarson, and Sarah Martin.
There will be no public visiting hours. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Dineshâ€™s life will be held Saturday, May 8, 2004 at 1pm at the First United Methodist Church, 21 Buell Street, Burlington, VT with Reverend Joy Lowenthal officiating. A reception will follow the memorial service. Inurnment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
