Cynthia Meyer Patton, age 60, of Austin TX died on Monday, July 24, 2006. Cynthia was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 8, 1945. She grew up in Dallas, Texas. Cynthia was the drill team captain for the Hillcrest High School. She then moved to Austin TX to attend the University of Texas where she met her best friend, loving husband and soul mate of 37 years, John Patton. She graduated with a BA in History and was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. Cynthia spent her younger days traveling with her husband John, volunteering for The Junior League, and playing tennis with her friends, but most importantly she devoted her life to her children Allison and John. Cynthia surrounded herself with loving friends who brought her joy and supported her to the very end by filling her days and fueling her competitive spirit with challenging bridge games. Cynthia truly loved spending time at the beach house in Port Aransas TX with her family especially with her grandchildren Will, Alex, and Carley. Cynthia was blessed to be there in her final days. Cynthia above all was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents. She will be sadly missed by her husband, John; son, John and wife, KK; their son, Will; daughter, Allison and husband, Jim; their children, Alex and Carley; her two sisters, Nancy and Judy; and her host of family and friends. Cynthia will be missed by all who had the fortune to have been touched by her strength, knowledge, and unforgettable character.
