Inell Brotherton Zevely, 79
Died: September 20, 2007, in Amarillo, Texas
Mrs. Zevely was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Lockney TX to Holman and Beauna Ann Brotherton. She graduated with bachelor's and master's degrees in education from West Texas State College. She married Claud "R" Zevely in 1950. He preceded her in death in 1989.
She taught the third grade in Panhandle, Hopkins, McLean, Amarillo and Canyon, and retired from teaching in 1987. She volunteered in the VA pharmacy for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and was an avid reader. She was the owner of the Western Horseman Lounge from 2003 until 2007. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel and Kent "Zev" and his wife Norma, both of Amarillo; a brother, Henry Brotherton of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Martha Jo Boren of Lubbock; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family asks in lieu in flowers memorials be to the Claud "R" Zevely Scholarship Fund, WTA & M University, Canyon, TX, or Hospice Care of the Southwest, 1301 S. Coulter St., No. 404, Amarillo, TX 79106.
