Thomas A. Mazur July 13, 1919 - January 6, 2009 LISBON, CT
Thomas A. Mazur, 89, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday morning. Born in New York City on July 13, 1919, he was the son of Adam & Helen Mazur. He moved to Lisbon when he was three years old and resided there for the next 86 years. Thomas is survived by Rose Mazur, his wife of 66 years; two sons and their spouses, Kenneth and Karen, and Carl and Dorothy; three grandchildren, Kim Li Mazur, Todd Mazur and Donald Chapman Jr.; three great grandchildren; and his sister, Annie Ely. Thomas was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, John and Stanley. A veteran of World War II, Thomas served in the Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945. After his discharge, he was employed as a mechanic for several local car dealers, spent 10 years as maintenance foreman for Pervel in Plainfield, then ran his own excavating business until his retirement in 1982 at the age of 62. Thomas, an avid fisherman, then split his time each year between Lisbon and Jensen Beach, FL. There are no visiting hours and a memorial service may be held in the future at the convenience of the family.
