SKOWHEGAN, ME -- Alvina "Bunny" Hoskins passed away Nov. 21, 2008, as a result of congestive heart failure. Bunny was born in Madison on Aug. 7, 1924, the daughter of Rodney and Mary Cody.

She is survived by her daughter Sunny Hoskins and her life partner Desere Edwards of Frisco, Texas; son Rodney Hoskins and his wife, Lorraine, and beloved granddaughter Chelsea of Solon; widowed daughter-in-law Mary Hoskins and her children Neil, Samantha and Marie of North Anson; former daughter-in-law Dorette Hoskins and her daughter Kari and three grandchildren; brothers Bernard Cody of Skowhegan and Lawrence Cody of Florida; sisters Gloria Cody and Donna Tripp of Madison; brothers-in-law, Arthur Hoskins and his life partner Roger Thibideau, and Frank Hoskins and his wife Lorraine of Skowhegan; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Bunny married Lewis Hoskins, a soldier, and traveled throughout the U.S., Japan and Germany for over 20 years. She was involved in the VFW Ladies Auxillary, American Legion and Elks. She was a longtime employee of the shoe shop and spinning mill in the Skowhegan area. As a member of the "Good Sam Club," her family enjoyed travel and camping.

Bunny was predeceased by her parents; husband of 53 years, Lewis "Sarge" Hoskins; son, Paul Hoskins of North Anson; brother, Hugh Cody of Madison; sisters, Pearl Kenny of Farmington, Rachel Lavoie, Annabelle "Jo" Cody, Pauline Forbus, Arlene Littlejohn, and Theresa Cody, all of Madison.

The family would like to thank her caregivers and friends for their support and wish condolences be sent in lieu of flowers to the American Heart Association.

The funeral will be held in the chapel at Maine Veterans' Cemetery, Augusta. The date and time of the funeral will be published in Tuesday's edition of the Morning Sentinel.
