BONAPARTE, Iowa -- Joseph Carl Looker, 66, Bonaparte, formerly of Bennett, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at his home.
Services were held Friday, Oct. 10, at the Farmington Methodist Church, Farmington, and Sunday, Oct. 12, at the Bradford Church of the Brethren, Bradford, Ohio, that his grandfather, Roscoe Inman, helped build. His body was cremated after the Farmington service.
The Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, was in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be sent to Box 6, Bonaparte, IA 52620. The family is also collecting memories from others to put a book together. Stories may be sent to the address listed above.
Mr. Looker was born on May 21, 1937, in Bradford, the son of Paul and Martha Lucille Inman Looker. He married Mary 'Beth' Kinzie on Aug. 11, 1962, in Des Moines. They were married 22 years. He later married Betty Lou Brant on June 20, 1987, in Covington, Ohio. She preceded him in death on Aug. 9, 1997.
Survivors include five daughters, Teresa 'Teri' Horton of Tipton, Tami O'Day and her husband, Clint, of Deshler, Neb., Tonya Fusco and her husband, Todd, of Wilton, Lori Walker and her husband, Chris, of North Glenn, Colo., and Nicole 'Nicki' Jarvis and her husband, Derek, of Farmington; a son, Larry Salyer of Covington; two brothers, William Looker and his wife, Beth, of Toledo, Ohio, and Jerry Looker of Riley, N.C.; a sister, Mary Looker of Piqua, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and aunts; and former wife, Beth of Wilton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; a brother, Darrell; a son-in-law, Ken Horton; four grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
