EDWIN J. BRUNE
Funeral services for Edwin J. Brune, 83, were Wednesday at Goodwin Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Joseph Andrajack officiated. Burial was in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. He died May 11, 2003 at his home in Cherokee.
He was born Dec. 22, 1919, in Kingfisher, OK. to Julius William and Clara Fry Brune. He moved to the Lambert-Cherokee area with his parents as a child and attended school in Lambert. He was a farmer and gardener.
He served in the U.S.Navy during the duration of World War II. After his discharge he returned to Lambert. He and Jean Smith were married in 1946 in Kiowa, KS. They have lived in the Lambert and Cherokee communities since that time.
He was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of the home; a son, Larry of Piedmont, OK.; a daughter, Nancy Jo Gallo of Atlanta, GA., and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
