SEHRT Clement Tricon Sehrt died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at University Medical Center from complications following a heart attack. Mr. Sehrt was 62 years old. He is survived by his lifetime friend and partner, Herbert H. Holmes of New Orleans, LA; one sister, Gretchen Sonja Sehrt of New Orleans, LA; one nephew, Robert R. Burton III and wife Carol of Nashville, TX; a great-niece, Mary Grace Burton; a great-nephew, Robert R. Burton IV; and numerous family, friends, and business associates. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Clem H. Sehrt and Norris Tricon Sehrt. Mr. Sehrt was the owner of R.J. Tricon Co. and an attorney. He was a graduate of Tulane University and Loyola School of Law. Following law school, Mr. Sehrt worked as a staff attorney for Senator Russell Long in Washington, D.C. He returned to New Orleans in 1974 to run the family business and continued to practice law. He served on the Board of Directors for Liberty Bank of New Orleans, and was an active member of the American Bar Assocation, the International House, as well as numerous community concerns. Mr. Sehrt loved to travel and throughout his life visited dozens of international destinations. He was a kind, intelligent, religious and endearing man, and always a true gentleman. Mr. Sehrt will be sorely missed by the family mentioned above, as well as the employees of R.J. Tricon Co., his faithful personal assistants and household staff, the congregation of St. Patrick's Church, the Alumni of Loyola Law School, members of the World Trade Center, and various other organizations and groups. A service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, LA 70119, (504) 482-2111.
