AUSTINTOWN – John E. Colarich Jr., 66, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012.
John was born Sept. 25, 1946, in Youngstown, Ohio a son of John E. Sr. and Katherine Eileen Schenck Colarich.
He was a 1966 graduate of Cardinal Mooney then served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
John worked for Ohio Bell /AT&T for 40 years, from where he retired in 2008.
Mr. Colarich was a member of St. Christine Church of Youngstown.
He enjoyed fishing, Mill Creek Park, and supporting Cleveland’s professional sports teams.
John shared a lifelong passion for music, classic cinema, film, and photography.
Most important to him was the time he spent with his family and bringing smiles to his grandchildren.
John leaves his wife, Carol J. Stanko Colarich, whom he married Sept. 11, 1971; his daughter, Julia A. Colarich of Austintown; his son, Gregory J. (Autumn) Colarich of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren, Gianna and Alaina; his mother, Eileen Colarich of Austintow, OHn; his brother, Thomas (Leanna) Colarich of Girard, OH; his sister, Joan (Frank) Bartolec of Austintown; and many nieces and nephews.
He will be truly and sadly missed by all who loved him.
John was preceded in death by his father.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Sept. 30, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road in Youngstown.
Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home and continue to 10 a.m. at St. Christine Church.
Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park in Warren, OH.
