Betty Scarborough Henley

Memorial service for Betty Scarborough Henley, 82, Lawton, will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church with The Rev. John E. Borrego, Rector, Trinity Episcopal Church, Guthrie officiating.
Mrs. Henley died Friday, January 13 in a local care center.
Inurnment will be in the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Columbarium. Arrangements are under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Betty was born August 9, 1929 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She grew up in North Carolina where she attended the Montread Boarding School in Ashville. On February 13, 1963 she married Dr. Bill G. Henley in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on April 25, 1992.
A long time resident of Lawton she loved her community, her friends and her church. She was a past president of the Junior League and was an active member of the PEO Sisterhood. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church where she had served as Altar Guild Mistress and Senior Warden.
She is survived and loved by her family including Bill Henley, Norman, Oklahoma, Melissa Willis and husband Walt, San Antonio, Texas, and Pamela Hattoy and husband Hank, San Antonio; three granddaughters, Lauren Dare and husband Chris, Dublin, Ireland, and Alexandra Boyle and Melissa Boyle both of Dallas, Texas; a great grandson, Nathaniel Dare, Dublin, Ireland; a beloved nephew, Bob Winston and his partner John Hunter, Washington Depot, Connecticut.
Her parents, a sister, Irene Vogel, and a brother, Robert Scarborough, preceded her in death.
