BOARDMAN – Services will be on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Nicholas Church for Evelyn L. Korchnak who died on Dec. 31, 2012, at Humility House in Austintown, Ohio. (Mahoning County)
She was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Greenville, Texas, a daughter of the late James M. and Thela Bramlett Stapleton.
She worked for the government during World War II at Love Field in the clerical department and for 30 years at Kirila Funeral Home Inc. as the Bookkeeper.
She is survived by her children, Stephen M. (Brenda) Korchnak in Columbiana, Ohio, Sharon Ann Korchnak in Boardman, Ohio and Cheryl L. (Perry) Coleman of Gaithersburg, Md.; her granddaughter that she raised, Dee (Paul) Franke of Boardman, OH; and two great-grandchildren, Noah and Leah Franke.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen J. Korchnak, whom she married Sept. 16, 1943, and he died Feb. 16, 1971; her sisters, Thelma Camp and Lois Philpot; and her brother, James M. Stapleton.
Visitation will be held on Saturday Jan. 5, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Christ our Savior Parish, St. Nicholas Church.
Burial will be at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
