BOARDMAN – Agnes C. Escaja, 83, who passed away peacefully Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Youngstown, Ohio on Dec. 29, 1929, the daughter of the late Michael and Veronica Sedlacko Brosko.
Agnes was a 1947 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and a 1952 graduate of the Youngstown Hospital Association School of Nursing.
A registered nurse for several years, she decided to attain her broker license, join her husband’s real estate business and recently was awarded Realtor Emeritus status by the National Association of Realtors in recognition of 40 years of service.
She was an active member of the Retired Nurses Association and a long time parishioner of St. Dominic’s parish.
Agnes led a very active social life and enjoyed going out with her friends.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, Mark Escaja of Solon, Ohio and Jim Escaja (Diane) of Boardman, Ohio; granddaughter, Lindsey Escaja of Columbus, Ohio; as well as her brothers, Bernard (Mary Jane) Brosko of New Middletown, Ohio and Lawrence (Ann) Brosko of Poland, OHIO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Escaja, whom she married on June 5, 1954; her sister, Margaret Bobeck; and granddaughter, Melissa Escaja.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 9, 2013 at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman, OHIO
