AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Charles L. Galazia, 85, died Friday morning, Dec. 28, 2012, at his residence.
Mr. Galazia was born Feb. 7, 1927, in Hillsville, Pa., a son of Patsy and Anna Monaco Galazia.
He attended Lowellville, Ohio High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1950.
While serving during the Korean War in the infantry, he was captured and spent 28 months in a prison camp, before being honorably discharged with the rank of Private First Class in 1953.
After returning home from the service, he received his GED and worked for LTV as a millwright for 36 years, retiring in 1986.
He will be sadly missed by his friend, Norma Bichum of Youngstown and his extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Robert Galazia; and four sisters, Marilyn Galazia, Florence Fish, Virginia Galazia, and Margaret Thompson.
There will be no calling hours or services.
Arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers, Ohio.
