ALLIANCE, Ohio – Carl A. DeTata, 94, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born April 24, 1918, in Youngstown, Ohio to Alfredo and Ernesta (Zarengo) DeTata.
Carl was married to Julia (Kalafut) DeTata, July 15, 1939, until her passing July 28, 1991.
He was a World War II veteran and retired from Wean United as a machinist.
He leaves a daughter, Joyce Ricks (Ed Harver) of Poland, Ohio; a son, Richard DeTata of Michigan; four grandchildren, Dena (Rich) Lepore, Devenie Santell, Sherry DeTata and Darren DeTata; five great-grandchildren, Alex and Anthony Lepore, and Saulie, Frankie and Lucky Santell; and his 21 year companion, Aileen J. Mazzei of Alliance, OH.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James DeTata.
Private services were held on Jan. 10, 2013, at the Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
Interment has taken place at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio. (Mahoning County)
Arrangements were made by the Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave. in Alliance.
