Betty J. Alaimo, 80, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Friday evening, September 21, 2012 at Arlington Nursing Home in Newark, Ohio. Born August 3, 1932 in Huntington, West Virginia she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Gladys (Hodge) Spencer and was a graduate of Sandy Hook High School in Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Betty was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to cook and bake for her family and she especially enjoyed having her family with her during the holidays. She also had a passion for music and loved to sing. Surviving are three sons, Greg Holbrook, Ronald and Richard Holbrook; one daughter, Cheree Lybarger; three sisters, Linda, Effie Sue and Lou Deema; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Emmett Spencer. Calling hours were 6 to 8pm Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Pennington officiating. Burial occurred in Frazeysburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, Post Office Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058-0430.
