YOUNGSTOWN – Michael C. Furgas, 53, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013.

Michael was born on May 30, 1959, in Youngstown, Ohio a son of Steve Sr. and Marie McSwain Furgas.

Michael lived in this area his entire life, worked at the Tamarkin Warehouse on the loading dock and was a member of Teamsters Union Local 377, Youngstown, Ohio.

He was a member of St. George Byzantine Catholic Church and was an avid follower and reader of history.
He graduated from Chaney High School in 1977.

Michael is survived by his wife, the former Christine Aleksy, whom he married Aug. 1, 1992; a son, Michael Furgas Jr. of Youngstown; a daughter, Laura Furgas of Youngstown; four brothers, Steve (Jane) Furgas of Coatesville, Pa., Tom Furgas of Austintown, Ohio, Jim (Ruth) Furgas of Oakland, California, and John (Nicole) Furgas of Youngstown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Timothy and Paul Furgas; and a son, Steven David Furgas.

Friends may call on Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the family.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown, Ohio
