CANFIELD, OHIO – Stephen “Bengie” Bengala, 65, who passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 24, 2013, with his loving family by his side.
Stephen was born April 19, 1947, in Youngstown, Ohio the son of Stephen and Betty (Tecza) Bengala.
Stephen was employed at General Fireproofing for 25 years and then retired from Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church.
Stephen was an avid bowler, a lefty, and the youngest bowler to be inducted into General Fireproofing’s bowling Hall of Fame.
He enjoyed golfing and was an Ohio State Buckeye fan. Stephen especially enjoyed cruising in his 1939 Coupe.
He will always be lovingly remembered by his wife, the former Shirley Walley, whom he married July 19, 1969; two sons, David (Kathleen) Bengala of Kinsman, Ohio and Joseph (Christina) Bengala of Berlin Center, OH; five grandchildren, Deanna, Hunter, Dominic, Nicolas and Anthony; sister, Deborah (James) Multari of Boardman, Ohio.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a funeral service at 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 28, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in (Mahoning County)Austintown, Ohio
Friends may call on Sunday, Jan. 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman.
