Leon O. "Nick" Roberts, age 76, of Miamisburg, OH, passed away July 21, 2011 at home. He was born in Norfleet, KY on May 13, 1935 to the late Ostle O. and Mary I. (Garner) Roberts. He graduated from Kiser High School ~ Class of 1953 and then served 2 years in the U. S. Army. Nick retired from Mound Lab in 1990 after 33 years of service. He has been a member of New Jersey Presbyterian Church since 1962, having served as Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Elder. Nick was an avid golfer, belonging to Monsanto, then EG & G Golf Clubs as well as the Mound Golf Course Club for several years. He also enjoyed time at their place on the lake in Canada, trap shooting, fishing, karate and euchre. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Scott (1973) and 2 brothers, Joseph Allen and Wendell Roberts. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Peggy (Spencer) Roberts and his son Nick (Barbara) Roberts of Belpre, OH; 3 granddaughters, Emily Jo of Mobile, AL, Kayla Sue of Auburn, AL and Leah Michelle of Belpre, OH; his brother, Winfred "Bue" (Barbara) Roberts of New Lebanon, OH; 4 sisters, Louise Myers of Lewisburg, OH, Geyneal (Guy) Palmer of Brookville, OH, Christine Suhre (and her son, Bobby) of Dayton, OH and Polly (Daryl "Cotton") Mercer of Somerset, KY; his sister-in-law, Avon Roberts of Arcanum, OH; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call 1-3 p.m. July 23, 2011, at the Dalton Funeral Home, Corner of State Route 4 & Weaver Rd., Germantown, OH where the Funeral Service will follow with Rev. Jeffrey Foster officiating. Burial will be at New Jersey Presbyterian Cemetery. If desired memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Parkinson Foundation or New Jersey Presbyterian Church, in Carlisle, OH.
