DELAWARE, OHIO – Thomas L. Corroto Jr., 90, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at his home in Delaware, Ohio.
He was born on July 23, 1922, in Youngstown, Ohio to Thomas L. and Rose (Pape) Corroto.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Devite) Corroto in 2000: they were married on Sept. 25, 1954.
He was a very proud graduate of East High School in Youngstown and The Ohio State University, earning a degree in accounting and a jurist doctorate.
After practicing law in Youngstown for 57 years, Tom reluctantly retired.
He was an avid golfer (scoring four holes-in-one, one more than his son), past-president of both Tippecanoe C.C. and The Pundersons, a loyal group of golfing couples, and a bocce champion (winner of the Sugar Palermo Award).
He loved fishing in Canada, growing tomatoes, and attending Ohio State football games.
He will be deeply missed by his son, Mark Corroto and daughter-in-law Mel Corroto of Delaware, Ohio and daughter Carla and son-in-law Paul Clarke of Baltimore.
Tom was preceded in death by his three brothers, Robert, Anthony, and Vincent.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Cemetery Chapel in Youngstown on Tuesday, Feb 12, 2013 at noon.
A celebration of his life will take place at Austin Manor, 95 Elizabeth St., Delaware, Ohio, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.
In charge of the arrangements is the Robinson Funeral Home.
