Funeral of Edwin A. Francis
Former Resident and Prominent Member of Consolidated Exchange Dies
A Very Great Favorite
The funeral service of the late Edwin A. Francis was held from the home of his sister, Mrs. Louis Ganzel, on Westfield avenue, yesterday afternoon and was attended by a large number of relatives and friends and a delegation of the members of the Consolidated Exchange, of New York City, of which Mr. Francis had been a member for the past twenty years. Rev. J.A. Smith, recotr of St. Paul's church, officiated, assisted by Dr. Dodd, of St. John's P.E. church, Rosebank.
Mr. Francis died in Bellevue Hospital, New York, on Saturday where he had been taken after sustaining injuries at Thrity-first street and Broadway.
The following Consolidated Exchange Committee composed of L.N. Morris, R.H. Wobcke, R.D. Banister, L.J. Dietz, J.E. Lynch, and Robert H. Summer, of Westfield, were the pallbearers.
Mr. Francis was for many years a resident of Westfield. He attended the local schools and St. Paul's church. He moved from here to Brooklyn and resided in Fourth street in that city. He was born in Carbondale, Pa., and was 40 years old. He had been a member of the New York Consolidated Exchange for twenty years.
He is survived by a widow and two children, Edwin A. Frances, Jr., and Miss Carolyn Francis, and also by his brother, Harold Francis, and two sisters, Mrs. L.C. Ganzel, of Westfield, and Miss Dorothy Francis, of Rosebank, S.I.
