MARION, Ohio: Barbara K. Cornwell passed away February 22, 2013 in Reno, Nevada.
She was a resident of Marion Ohio for over 30 years. Barbara was a member of The League of Women Voters in Marion and Andover MA where she was President several times.
Barbara was a long time T.W.I.G. volunteer at Marion General Hospital and belonged to the Garden Club.
Barbara and her husband Jerry attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church and were members of the Marion Country Club.
Barbara Anne Kates was born in West Chester PA Nov. 6, 1927, graduated from Bucknell University and married Jerald M. Cornwell in Williamsport PA in 1952.
Barbara and Jerry raised their family in Andover MA before moving to Marion in 1972 where Jerry was employed by Marion Power Shovel before retiring.
Barbara is survived by her sons, Thomas (Karen), Steven (Tina); and her daughter, Kathryn (Brian); four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held Friday March 1, 2013 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Tahoe City California.
In lieu of flowers donations should be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
