YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO –Mr. Victor J. Markasky, 83, died on Saturday, March 30, 2013..
Mr. Markasky was born Sept. 1, 1929, in Brookfield, a son of Barney and Martina (Gurowski) Markasky.
He moved to Youngstown and was a life long area resident of the Mahoning Valley.
He was a member of both St. Francis of Assisi and St. Patrick’s Church in Youngstown.
Victor was a veteran of the U.S Army, having served during the Korea Conflict.
He retired after 40 years of service in the production and management areas of the General Fireproofing Company of Youngstown.
He was a 1948 graduate of Youngstown East High School and furthered his education by graduating from Youngstown State University in business administration.
He is survived by a sister, Gertrude Evans of Boardman, Ohio and a brother, Larry (Marjorie) Markasky of Hubbard.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Frank, Bernard, Albert, and William; three sisters, Helen Markasky, Margaret Vitto and Adele Sawyer; and several nieces and nephews.
Prayers will be held at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church on Oak Hill Ave.
