Mr. Charles Homer Scott, son of the late Mr. Charley Scott and Mrs. Hattie Mae Cantrell Scott, was born 31 May 1904 in Green Co. and departed this life at 6:30 pm Fri. 29 Jul  at McDowell Skilled Nursing in Greensburg. He had made a profession of faith Christ and was a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church at the time of his death. Mr. Scott had been custodian of Southern High School and retired from that position from Waggoner High School in Louisville. He was also a retired farmer. He united in marriage to Miss Gracie Shofner, who preceded him in death. To this union were born 3 children. Surviving is Mrs. Christine Cox, Greensburg. He was preceded in death by an infant and his son, Dennis Scott. He later united in marriage to Miss Lura Dobson, who preceded him in death in 1976. To this union were born 8 children. Surviving are: Glyn Scott, Albert Scott and Mrs. JoAnn Hildebrand all of Louisville; Charles Scott, Olyn Scott, James Scott and Jerry Scott all of Greensburg. An infant preceded him in death. He later united in marriage to Miss Thelma Rafferty, who survives. Mr. Scott is also survived by 2 stepchildren: Mrs. Juanita Simpson and David Wayne Scott, both of Greensburg; 2 sisters: Mrs. Ida Lee Thompson, Hodgenvill; and Miss Marie Scott, Bowling Green, Ky; 30 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends. The remains were at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home where funeral services were conducted at 2 pm Sun. 31 Jul with burial in the Summersville Memory Gardens. Revs. Irvin Milby, Jr., Danny Nelson and Larry Wisdom officiated. The pallbearers were Phillip Cox, Roger Scott, David Hodges, Gerald Scott, Coy Scott, — Scott, Jeffrey Scott, Johnny Scott, and Bobby Scott.
