My ancestor Daniel Henry King (probably) b.1857 in Missouri, worked down around Tillar, Drew Co., Arkansas, where he met and married Sarah Rawls Duncan in 1881. About 1900, he was killed in a railroad accident. Are there any early records for the Missouri Pacific Railroad?
Thanks,
R. Dobson

KCP&G ( Kansas City Southern ) personnel roster

I am trying to locate my grandfather, Oscar Otto Funk. He lived around Mena and Cove, Arkansas. His wife, Mary A. ( Funk ) Forehand and children are listed on U.S. census but his name is not on the list. They are shown living in the E.P. Forehand household in White Township. I am assuming that Oscar Otto must have worked for the railroad and was away during the census count. KCP&G railroad was active around Mena at that time ( 1900 ),so, he may have been employed by them. I would appreciate it if someone could help me locate the railroad's roster for that time period.
Thanks.

Several members of the Brown family followed the RR from Georgia to southern Arkansas and into Garvin, Okla. G.Gdftr Wm. Henry Brown was struck by a cross tie and died from his injury. Joseph Brown, a brother, was a 'Roadmaster' in Little Rock prior to 1930. What line was operating in LR between 1920-1935?
I know there was a 'Cottonbelt RR' in Fordyce. Did it run into Okla? Was there a line from Ga. thru Ala into southern AR or LA. Family lived for a bit in Shreveport, LA before going to OKLA.

KCP&G Railroad--Polk County

Can anyone give me any information concerning the Kansas City,Pittsburg & Gulf Railroad employee lists. I am searching for Oscar Otto Funk. He may have worked for the company. His wife, children and wife's family lived in Polk County, Arkansas around Mena and Cove, Arkansas. He died in Mena, Arkansas in 08/10/1907. I would like to find out his date of birth and the location of the cemetery where he is buried. His wife's maiden name was Mary Allie Forehand and his in-laws were E.P. and Elizabeth Forehand. E.P. and Elizabeth are buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Cove, Arkansas. I cannot find the name of Oscar Otto Funk anywhere in Polk County, Arkansas. I would appreciate any help anyone could give me.
Thanks.

Abram Crownover killed carrying mail

Does this make sense? I have a letter saying that Abram Crownover was killed while working as a mail carrier on the Rock Island Railroad from Camden to Little Rock Ark. This would be shortly after 1870. Susposedly shot by someone out hunting squirrels and decided to kill Abram to get the mail.
If he was mail carrier for R.R. would he not be on a train? And the entire train been stopped?
He was suppose to be a Methodist Minister (a Circut Rider?) as well as a Mail Carrier for the Rail Road.
Any help appreciated.
Dora

REDMOND\REDMAN - Railroad Worker in South Madison Co.

My grandfather was George Washington REDMOND b 9/19/1888 in Madison Co to George REDMOND Sr. and Nancy Paralee HILL. Nancy later married Moses GIBSON. George Jr's marriage cert. lists his name as REDMOND but he went by George GIBSON as an adult. They lived in the southern Madison Co. The 1880 census shows the family in VALLEY TWP #17. Nancy's parents were William & Lucinda (TUCKER) HILL. George REDMOND Sr. was a railroad worker maybe from another county and roomed with the HILL family. I would love to find the elusive Mr. REDMOND, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

A family story says that James K. Daniel died in a train crash in Southern Arkansas perhaps around 1920. The year is uncertain and could be earlier or later. He was estranged from his family at the time, and little is known about where he was. Any information would be appreciated.
