Do you know of other Knights who owned Arkansas sawmills? My great grandfather, Thomas Marion Knight, had a sawmill/gristmill in the early 1900's. A Michael Wood once told me where it would have been based on the information that I gave him that it was located where Rip Torn now has a boy's camp. Mr. Wood said, "
If the mill was located where the boys camp is, that would be the Ouchita River. The boys camp, or the one I know about is located on Hwy. 270 about 4 or 5 miles west of Mt. Ida.
It was owned by a family named Webb in the 50's and 60's. I don't know when they sold it but I went to school with Patsy whose father owned the boys camp.
If there were a mill located at that spot, it would more than likely have been on the West side of the river, just to the south of the bridge that crosses the river now.
Hopefully this may be of some help in locating the spot.
Mike Wood"
Any additional information about this mill would be appreciated.
