Weyerheauser actually bought Dierks out around 1969 or 1970. I was a telephone man for SW Bell & did a lot of phone work in the old Dierks sawmill in Mt. Pine, Ar. & also for Weyereauser after they bought Dierks out. Weyerheauser shut the Mt. Pine Mill down last year, but they still operate a mill at Dierks Arkansas. There are several members of the old Dierks family still living in & around Hot Springs, Arkansas where they are listed in the Hot Springs directory. There were many old "groundhog" sawmills around in 1913 as well as those operated by Dierks, Rosboro, Clark, & several other large lumber companies at that time. There is a book "Sawmill" which you should be able to find on line somewhere that has a lot of info about the sawmill industry in this area in the early 1900s. Very intersting reading & might give you a direction to go.
