I descend Richard Bradley, Jr., officer of the Bank of Cape Fear, warf, store, and saltworks owner, commissioner of navigation and pilotage, Wilmington, N.C. He owned a brickyard, near downtown, Wilmington.
Ancestor Robert Sage, Sr., brick layer, wed widow Mrs. Sarah Moore; that ran Sage's Inn and the Wilmington to New Bern stage line. President Washington spend the night there on his 1791, Southern Tour.
Sage was a big, "Jolly Englishman"; I suspect of the tiler and plasteror Sages of Bristol, England
