Hi can anyone help me with finding a record on my ancestor which will give me his year of birth and place of birth, I am going round in circles trying to find the info but so far have not been able to find him listed on the BT records held in KEW. I suspect because he was a Master Mariner before 1845.

All the info I have is that his name was John Harvey, his first son was baptised in Dec 1812 in Boston and he was a Mariner then. On his 2nd son's baptism in Aug 1815 he is listed as a Master Mariner. The family moved from Boston UK to Hull UK around 1821.

In 1827 his son George first went to see with his father John who was then Master of " The Atlas".

In 1841 he was living in Blue Bell Entry off the High Street in Kingston Upon Hull (it says he was not born in this county) with his wife Ann. In 1851 his wife is still at the same address but she is a widow. I cannot find details of his death either at sea or on land.

Please can anyone advise me where I can get copies of his details, KEW wont look into the BT98 references and they are not on film and he does not appear on any BT records after 1845 that list Master Mariner info eg BT 143, BT115 BT 119.
