Starting to research mariners
Hi Message Board,
I have been researching my family history for some time now but have not touched on mariner records. I am trying to work out where to start. Are there online indexes for seamen registers? Any point in the right direction would be appreciated. Additionally, I have noticed a few lookup requests - I have two names that, if someone has access, would greatly appreciate any information on:
AITCHESON, Thomas 2 (sailed out of Bo'ness and South Shields)
AITCHESON, James (sailed out of London)
