The Circus Hanni existed in Europe intil approx 1818/1810. The owner was my ancestor, Julius Hanni. He was my grandfather's uncle. Someone from Julius' family married Julius Gleich, and from what I understand, the two Circuses merged and the Circus Gleich operated in Europe until about 1925/1928. I also have information that some of the descendants settled in Great Britain, and others in Sarasota, Fla. Does anyone have any information about either of these Circuses, and if any of the direct descendants are still living? The North American spelling of Hanni and Gleich were quite likely Anglicized at immigration. I am writing a family history book, and am most interested to have any information at all!
