Classification: Biography
Surnames: Jacobs
The Jacobs family in London (1780? to 1860?) were variously listed in contemporary directories and other documents as plate and cut glass manufactures, glass cutters, glass warehousemen/dealers, glass lamp manufactures, etc. At one time there was at factory in Phoenix Street (off Crown Street, now Charing Cross Road) and there were factories/shops/warehouses in Petticoat Lane/Middlesex Street, Artillery Passage (Bishopsgate), Mansell Street, Crown Street (Finsbury Sq), Charles Street (Soho) and Berwick Street (Soho).

There is more information on the Jacobs Family Tree at:

If anyone has any information about this family they are welcome to make contact either through this message board or via the web site.

I would be particularly interested to learn of any surviving Jacobs glassware.
