John F. Jackson and a Georgia tannery

I am told that my brick wall, John F. Jackson, worked at a tannery somewhere near Walton Co., GA, during the time of the Civil War. They made saddles, harnesses, etc., for the Confederate troops. I have reason to believe, though, that it was not in that county but maybe in a neighboring county...Gwinnett, Jackson, Barrow, Oconee, Clarke, etc. I have left postings on different county sites but have not had any response. I'm trying to track down where the tannery was in order to find out more about John F. Jackson. I know almost nothing about him or his ancestry...have plenty on his descendants, though. Ira H. Bunnell saddle and harness maker

Ira was b. abt 1822 in Canfield, Trumbell, Ohio and died in 1913, or so I've been told.
he m. 1st to my 2nd great aunt, Mary Ross, and 2nd to Elizabeth Hively.
Ira and Mary had 7 children, Charles Henry, Chester A., George Y who m. Mary Jane Cross, a great aunt of mine, Franklin B., Mary, Ada G. and William N.
to try to clarify the confusing marriages in this line, Mary Ross was the sister of my great, great grandmother Cynthia Ross. Mary Jane Cross was the sister of my great grandfather, James Franklin Cross. James m. Stella Morn Pearson, daughter of Cynthia Ross who m. John Young Pearson. but this query is about Ira....and whether certain individuals are relatives of his, and how they are related, if they are....
I have run across an Amariah Rose b. Apr 1792 N. Branford, CT who m. a Betsey Bunnell. I am intrigued by this as Cynthia Ross's father was Azariah Ross, b. 1789-1792 in CT, and it wouldn't suprise me one bit to find that this branch of my family tree is even more entangled and convoluted than I already know it to be. Rose and Ross are just two variants of the name, so it's possible that different branches of the family have different variations of the surname.
does anyone know this/these families? I posted them to the surname sites and have been contacted by descendants of Ira and Elizabeth, and by a descendant of Amariah, but none of us has been able to figure the ancestry out enough to know one way or another.

Looking for brother(s)/ancestors of Donald Gormley, carriage builder/trimmer from Ireland; b. 1832 and died in Nova Scotia in 1900. May be related to Charles Gormley b. 1835 also a carriage maker in Lexington, Kentucky.

John born 1856 in Ont, had own buisness called Hawkins & Co saddlers in Newmarket Ont in 1882, then went to Cadillac Michigan and worked for the firm of FA Koegel as a harnessmaker any one out there heard of this name please help me.

John Story of High Street, Newry, Co. Down is listed as a Harness Maker. His wife Mary (aged 80) died on 24th Feb 1870. Their descendants are believed to have emigrated to North America.
