Matthew Kelsh born 17 Jun 1818 County Meath Ireland, died 17 Sep 1865 Schuylkill Co., PA


My 3rd gr-grandfather - several years ago my dad & i found his death record in Pottsville Archives - at the time we could not get a copy of the record - what i recall is that Matthew & another man had disappeared after work on the 15th of September 1865 - they were located the next day & had apparently "fallen" down an air flu and died - their bodies were retrieved 17 Sep 1865 and that date was listed as their death dates - i believe this accident happened at the bear ridge colliery (the men lived in the port carbon area)-


Are there any records online for schuylkill county mining? if not, can anyone from the area tell me where i might find these records? they were temporarily in the basement of one of the county buildings when we saw them(might have been 2001 or 2002) - thank you for any help -
