Mining Accidents in PA? (Henry Thomas from caernarvonshire, Wales)

Classification: Query
Surnames: Thomas
My wife's great grandfather travelled to the US on the SS Umbria from Liverpool on 22 Jul 1905.

His sister Mrs M Jones (who lived at 31 Oakwood Lane, Wilkes-Barre PA) sent him 200$.

Henry was a slate quarryman who had also worked underground during 1901 in the Lancashire coalfields.During his time in US it is likely that HT worked in the anthracite mines?

He and his wife never reconciled and she re-married in 1915, stating that she was widowed. It is not clear from any records whether this was based on 7 years without information, presumed dead or that he had died during that time. He was born in 1869 and would have been about 36 when he arrived in the US.

Any help in solving this family enigmas will be very much appreciated.
