Hello
I have done a great amount of research on the Coal Mines and Coal Miners of West Va and Eastern Kentucky.
I have the names, dates, coal mines, coal miners deaths and job titles for 1911 and 1912. This is my work and I will do lookups and post them here. Here are the three major explosions for 1911 and 1912
Bottom Creek Mine Explosion Novv 11, 1911 operated by Bottom Creek Coal & Coke Co. Eighteen men were killed.
June 30, 1912, Standard Pocahontas Coal Company Explosion killing six miners and injuring three.
March 26, 1912, Jed mine, operated by Jed Coal & Coke Company, explosion 84 miners were killed.
I have a Eastern Ky Coal Miners Web site and I will start working on a site for West Va. My dad was a coal miner and as the old saying goes, " I am proud to be a Coal Miners daughter.
