Sometime around 1973-74 a man whose stepfather lived over around Sharplas,Clothier area of Boone County recorded a song about coal mining. The song started, "I was born in those West Virginia Hills, Down in Logan County in the coal fields. (or something similar to that) The only place I ever heard the song was in Logan,Mingo & Boone Counties. It was quite popular in that area at the time. I had the record and it was lost years ago. Does anyone have a copy of that record or have the lyrics? Who was the guy who sang it? Does anyone even remember hearing the song?
