My database of about 30,025 West Virginia mine accidents only covers reports for the years 1887, 1888, 1890-1893, 1897, 1901 - 1912, 1914-1917, & 1919-1925. Fatal and non-fatal accidents were reported 1887 through about 1917, and only fatal accidents were reported thereafter. Note that the annual reports cover periods July 1st to June 30th of the following year, with the annual report year being the following year. I have only about three fourths of the mining fatalities which occurred 1925 and earlier.

Although I am missing accidents for several years, I can provide date, miner’s age or county of residence, and reference source for the listed years.
