I am searching for information on Daniel Flower Brown, (my grt. grt. Uncle) born 30th May 1870 in Bristol, UK. He left home in 1884/5 and according to the family story, worked on cattle boats prior to travelling to the Canada/USA where he is reputed to have joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

He then lived with Indians, (he may have been captured by them) and had his face marked in their fashion. Unfortunately I do not know which tribe this was and do not know how to find out.

Following this he worked as a Lasso man / bareback rider in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, travelling to UK with them in 1891. He visited his family in Bristol then, but was never heard from after that although I understand he may have married a Spanish lady. I have wondered whether he joined the Wild West Show together with the Indians he was living with at the time.

I was told this story as a small child and would dearly love to learn more about his life and discover whether he has any descendants so I could fill in the gaps about Dan in my family history.

Any information would be very much appreciated, if only a suggestion as to where I could look next. I believe I have traced him as far as Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1885.
