I am researching my gg-grandfather Archibald Campbell who was born in Bath, Maine in 1826. What is the best way to find out information on a specific sailor, or their family? Any leads are greatly appreciated.
He was second mate on the ship International captained by David Brown of Provincetown, MA. This ship looks to have been built in 1851 by Clement Littlefield at Kennebunk, Maine and possibly operated in the white star line. I know that he sailed on it from Liverpool, England in Feb 1853.
