My ancestor,John Green(e),and his brothers Robert and(unknown) lived in Boston in the 1700s, and either bought a schooner or brought one to Yarmouth,MA in 1775. Don't know schooner name. They were Quakers, and traded on their schooner from Boston through Nova Scotia(which then included nearby provinces) to Placentia,Newfoundland. There is supposed to be a record of their schooner at Yarmouth in 1775.Anyone know how I can find it ?(I'm in Australia so can't go personally.)
Robert Green(e) was briefly on USA side in Revolution, then he and John returned permanently to Placentia,Newfoundland about late 1778. John, fervent Quaker, tried to stay out of whole thing. John's descendants from early 1800s started returning to Boston, until today there'd be many thousands in USA.
I'd like any information anyone has on this family(Point Verde Greenes of Nfld.)and of course anyone in USA descended from them. The clan is huge,so if your ancestry has any connection to Placentia,Nfld.,please contact me.
Especially of course seeking information on Yarmouth schooner, and the descendants of the brother(and anoy other relative) who remained behind in 1778 era.Thanks.Ward.wardgreene@hotmail.com
