Sorry to be so long in responding...have been offline for awhile. I have obtained a lot of my info from George Rose. DNA confirms that we are cousins. My ancestor was, of coures John Rose whose was the husband of Isobella Calder.

James Alexander and Alexander James were very well used names all down through my line. There was Alexander [Sandy] who was m. to Janet McKay, Then his son, was also Alexander James. He did something naughty, not sure what and had to skip off to Boston via "a sailing ship". That info from my Uncle, Douglas Rose, who is now about 94. Alexander James had several girls and James A. and married Elizabeth Stephens. They were my Great grandparents. They had Arthur A., my grandfather, Cameron and a girl who died young. I did hire the NEHGS and got further data from them re Alexander's [Sandy] Will, etc. I'm delighted to hear from you and perfectly willing to share any info that I have with you, cousin. Tell me more about yourself. I live in FL, USA, am a recent widow with 4 great children and one stunning little grandson. No other seafarers in my direct family
